Indians to Face #2 Wilcox County in Season Finale

The Irwin County Indians will travel to Rochelle this Friday night to take on the #2 ranked Wilcox County Patriots.  The Pats are undefeated on the year and scored with 2 seconds on the clock to defeat a very good Turner County Rebel team last Friday night.   Wilcox has an extremely efficient passing game with tall receivers and a very fast quarterback with possibly the strongest arm in the state in all classifications.  Last year the Pats played for the State Championship against Washaun Ealey and ECI.   This year is shaping up as a possible rematch between these two powerhouses.   Please come to Rochelle this Friday night and cheer on the Indians.  If you can’t make it join Kelly Wynn and Andy Paulk for all of the play – by – play action on 98.5 FM or streaming on our internet connection at www.IrwinCountyIndians.com.

Indians Take it on the Chin from Bobcats
Clint in Dooly

Last Friday night was not a good one for the Indians.   A win by Hawkinsville over  Telfair Co. as well as the 41-0 loss to the Dooly County Bobcats ended and hopes of post-season play by the Indians.   Irwin moved the ball at times against Dooly as Donta Jackson led Indians rushers with 128 yards on 20 carries and Fred Marshall had 41 yards on 10 carries.  Jake Adkinson had an interception for the defensive side of the ball.   Irwin’s offense scratched out 198 yards on the night while Dooly recorded 373 yards.   One good point for the game is the Tribe only accumulated for penalties on the night for 28 yards while Dooly had 13 for 70 yards.   Dooly did all the scoring on the night with 8 coming in the first quarter, 14 in the second, 6 in the third and 13 in the forth to top off the 41-0 victory for the Bobcats.   The Indians end their season next Friday night with a trip to Wilcox County to take on the #2 ranked Patriots.  Come to Rochelle and support the Indians last game of the season or catch Kelly Wynn and Andy Paulk on 98.5 FM or streaming on www.IrwinCountyIndians.com for all the play - by - play action.

Irwin Wins Second Game in Key Region Match Up

What a great Senior Night at Indian Field last Friday as the Irwin County Indians beat the Telfair County Trojans 28 –16.   The Indians seemed to play with a bit more spunk and confidence this week.
